Exhibition Tool-Kit

9/27 - Exhibition Install: 2D Hanging and 3D Art Workshop
Daniel Jonas & Joe Bradley 

This workshop will cover the basics of hanging and installing 2D and 3D works of art. Come gain hands-on experience installing anchors, hardware, hanging artwork, and repairing walls to expand your skill set. Go in prepared for your next critique and show off your installation skills! Join Daniel (Woodshop) and Joe (Ceramics) September 27th, 10-1, in the B200 woodshop in Flagg.

11/1 - Exhibition Planning & Project Management
Jordan Martin & Nathalie von Veh (Washington Project for the Arts) 

This workshop will cover the basics of planning, producing, and managing an exhibition or large-scale event. Participants will learn the best methods for collaboration, financial management, and sustainable outcomes when working with projects that exist inside and outside traditional art institutions. 

11/5 - New Media: Tech/AV/Sound Design for Exhibitions & Events 
James Huckenpahler, Brian Davis, Alma Laprida 

This workshop will introduce students to the various considerations that must be made when incorporating technology into installations, including assessing what a given space can support, what resources might be needed and/or available, and how to keep the installation running through the duration of an exhibition. We'll look at specific gear, and inspirational examples.

We’ll demystify the process of creating a standout resume, guide you in crafting a bio which reflects your unique journey, and foster a sense of community by sharing experiences and engaging in interactive activities and discussions. Join for a hands-on session of skill-building and practical strategies and embark on a path toward showcasing your narrative with confidence!
